UPDATE (05/05/23): Our huge-hearted friend Amber Gibson offered to pull Craig from the shelter tomorrow and keep him until we have a chance to speak more thoroughly with those of you who have expressed interest. Lisa Taubman Blount will be in touch with those of you who reached out within the next several days.

Craig is in need of a foster home ASAP

Craig was brought in by animal control to the shelter in Carrolton, GA. He was hanging around an industrial plant and animal control trapped him about 10 days ago. He was extremely skinny but has already put on some weight since being at the shelter. He is estimated to be about 5 years old. The vet who works with the shelter has bull terriers herself, she was quoted as saying, “He is so perfect, if I wasn’t so full with dogs, I would take him home.” He has been very calm since coming in. He has shown no reaction to any of the other animals at the facility. His kennel is setup for both inside and outside and he has continually gone to the outside part to go potty. His Heartworm test came back negative. He currently weighs 40 pounds but still needs to put some more weight on. We are looking for a foster home for him so we can learn more about him and get him fully vetted. This will also allow us to figure out what kind of home would work for him. Since we don’t know his history, we will only place him in a home with children who are 12 or older. If you have another dog, he/she would have to be similar in size or bigger and more on the calm side. We would ask that Craig be allowed to decompress for a few weeks while being kept separate from the resident dog and then try gradual introductions/integration to see how he would do with the other dog. The shelter is full and would like him to be pulled as soon as possible. If you live within 4-6 hours of Carrollton, GA in our area of coverage (we do not cover Alabama or Florida), please either message our main inbox or Lisa Taubman Blount,(https://www.facebook.com/lisa.taubman), directly.
