About the Bull Terrier

Bully Facts:

The Bull Terrier is a breed of dog in the terrier family. They have large, egg-shaped heads, and small triangular eyes.

Height: 20 – 22 Inches

Weight: 52 – 62 Ibs

Coat: Short and Dense

Colors: Solid white, fawn, brindle, black, red

Bull Terriers are known to be courageous and active. In fact, they are quite the clown and have tremendous personalities. They enjoy being around people but are strong willed and thus require an assertive owner; as such the Bull Terrier is not recommended for households with small children if the owner is a first time Bull Terrier owner. Bull Terriers need the companionship of their owners and should not be kept outside in a kennel.

Bullies are known for their gregarious, clownish, and energetic nature, as well as a characteristically egg-shaped head.

Bull Terrier: A gladiator? As it walks with a jaunty gait, it is also popularly known as the gladiator of the canine race.

They are not directly related to Pit Bull Terriers. This is a common misconception.

Although their lifespan is somewhere between 10 and 14 years, the oldest female Bull Terrier on record, an Australian house pet named “Puppa Trout”, remained sprightly into her 17th year.

The Bull Terrier is called a “Pig-dog” in some parts of the world. The name came about because cross-bred bullies were used in the past for bush-pig and warthog hunting in South Africa.
