Roo came onto our radar three months ago when she was picked up as a stray in Indianapolis, IN. She was absolutely terrified at the shelter and it was heartbreaking. We spoke with our contact at the shelter and were going to start working on getting her out as soon as her stray hold ended. Somehow it seemed like there was some sort of divine intervention though when we were told that two of the animal control officers, a mother and son, who have three bull terriers of their own had taken her home to try to help alleviate her fear during the stray hold. No one came looking for her so she was transferred to our rescue. Thankfully, her animal control officer saviors offered to foster her for us. As we worked to get all of her vetting taken care of over the next few months, we were able to see her come out of her shell and blossom into a fun-loving little girl. Having all her vetting complete and knowing more about her personality, we were able to focus on finding her a permanent home. We didn’t have to look that far, our placement coordinator thought she knew just the right place for Roo and it happened to be just a few hours away. After some discussions, the family agreed and today, the next chapter in Roo’s life began when one of her new dad’s drove to pick her up and bring her home. She will have a bull terrier brother named Clifford to play with and she will be doted on by her dad’s. We don’t know what Roo’s life was like prior to being found as a stray but we know that she never has to worry about anything ever again. As you can see in the picture, it is pure love for Roo’s dad and pure bliss for Roo.
Special thanks to those who first alerted us about Roo and to her fantastic foster family, who went above and beyond to make sure Roo was taken care of and loved.
