A few weeks ago, we were contacted by a woman looking to re-home her 6 year old miniature bull terrier, Sergio. Sergio had been with this woman and her family since he was a puppy. Until two years ago, he had a Doberman companion who he was best buds with. She passed away from cancer and, ever since, he has been a lonely boy. In addition to losing his playmate, his human family was super busy with kid’s activities and running their business to the point they felt bad that he was home by himself the majority of the time, receiving very little attention. We had some friends of ours, Rachael and Christian, go over to their house to meet him and they brought along one of their rescue bull terrier’s to see how Sergio would respond to him. Sergio was so beyond excited to see another doggie that it was both adorable and sad to witness. We instantly knew the home he needed to go too. Marion and Ilia, previous adopters, had unexpectedly lost their Blue Ridge alumnus, Good Time Charlie – Adopted several months ago. Cali Girl -Adopted (https://www.facebook.com/Cali-Girl-Adopted-102006602516007), their female Blue Ridge alumnus, needed a new playmate as the senior dog in the home, Kitwe, isn’t an ideal match in energy and play style for her. We had things all lined up pretty quickly but waited until Ilia was back home from a business trip before getting Sergio to his new family and life. Yesterday, Sergio was picked up by Rachael and Christian and then driven about 2 hours 45 minutes to meet up with Ilia who had about a 3 hour drive home. Sergio has had a tour of the farm he now calls home and has been settling in nicely. He and Cali have met briefly and seem like they will turn into great pals.
