Bailey came under the radar of our rescue a few weeks back. Her current owner had reached out to us because of some pretty signifiant life changes that left Bailey and another bull terrier alone for 14 hours, 6 days of the week. Her owner knew that it was unfair to Bailey and the other bully to live like this and wanted them to have the opportunity to go to families who could more present. The bull terriers happened to be in Massachusetts, somewhat local to one of our coordinators, allowing her the advantage of quickly networking among the bull terrier community to see if anyone nearby might be a fit. Shortly after speaking with Victoria Corse, who also lives in MA, a gentleman named Joe reached out to us, expressing interest in Bailey. Joe and his partner Randi have had 7 bull terriers, one of who they still have. Sadly, they unexpectedly lost their not yet 3 year old bull terrier to a massive seizure very recently. Victoria had filled Joe in about Bailey and discussions ensued. Over the next few weeks, Joe and Randi came to the realization that they could provide Bailey the home that she needs and that Bailey could help heal their broken hearts. Today Joe and Randi took a drive to go get Bailey and bring her home. Joe and Randi are retired and will be able to spend lots of quality time with Bailey, giving her the attention that her former owner wanted her to have but couldn’t give. The added bonus is that our local coordinator will also be able to go over and “check up” on how things are going with Bailey in her new home (and by “check up” we mean get loves and cuddles from an adorable bully).
Special thanks to Elizabeth Deehan for meeting and evaluating Bailey and Victoria for sending Joe and Randi our way and trying to network Bailey and the other bull terrier Bella
