Finnegan came into rescue in May of 2022 as one of the Fall River 5, which consisted of 5 two year old littermates. He has been in a loving foster home with Tricia Murphy since then, one that would have turned into a foster fail if certain circumstances in the Tricia’s home had played out differently. We had been working on placing him a few months back but were waiting until his neuter was done. We ran into an issue though once he had the procedure as it seems he had an adverse reaction to the anesthetic that was used. We felt we needed to get a handle on those issues before moving him. Finnegan has made huge strides in getting back to being himself but still has a little way to go. We knew we needed a very special home for him. In the interim, a former adopter named Joe reached out, letting us know that his Blue Ridge alumnus boy Vinnie had passed away from cancer this past spring. Vinnie was Joe’s first bull terrier and Joe told us how Vinnie changed his life. He felt it was his purpose to bring home a bully that was older or had medical issues or that others might look past. Several bullies had crossed our mind as possibilities for Joe, however, we just kept gravitating back to Finnegan. Once we had Joe talk with Tricia, it became very apparent that Joe and Finn seemed like they were exactly what each of them need. Today Joe took the day off from work so he could go meet up with Tricia to get Finn and bring him home. We have much hope for Finnegan’s future with Joe.
Special thanks to Tricia Murphy for being such an incredible foster mom for Finnegan over the last 5 1/2 months and for driving to meet up with Joe today
