Bullseye Needs a Home ASAP

August 15, 2022 Announcements

Bullseye is in need of a home as soon as possible

Bullseye came into rescue and went to his foster home on July 28th, 2022. He had been found the week before, chained to a trash can, abandoned in extremely hot weather. His paw pads were a mess from being left on the heated pavement. The original finder tried to get money for him but then the local humane society went and got him and took him back to the shelter. We knew very little information about him at that point except that he was very sweet with all the humans he interacted with. We found what we thought would be an ideal foster home for him. A home that we were told would keep him completely separate from the resident dog for at least the first 2 weeks and then slowly try to see if he was okay with the resident dog with off property, leashed walk by’s across the street from each other to start. If it appeared that Bullseye was not okay with the resident dog, the foster had agreed to keep him separate so that we could get a thorough evaluation over more time and learn more about him so we could find the right home for him. Unfortunately, things played out differently and we learned that Bullseye is not okay with the resident dog and the foster would like him to be moved as soon as possible. We have not learned if it is only the resident dog that he is not okay with or if it is all dogs. At this point, we will err on the side of caution and say he needs to go to a home with no other pets. If there was not another dog in the home, the foster would keep him because of what a good boy he is otherwise. He has been a typical bull terrier in the home, wanting to be petted and loved on, playing and going for walks. He is believed to be about 8 years old and weighs about 64 lbs. He is crate trained, potty trained and leash trained. He does have a strong prey drive. He is the kind of bully who can chill out in the house, keeping busy with his toys and just relaxing. He has been very friendly to people who come by for visits. If allowed, he will climb into your lap and lick your face with enthusiasm! He does not attempt to go up on furniture and has not had an accident ever since being in his foster home. He knows basic commands including sit, down, paw and heel. If you can open your home to Bullseye, you will receive lots of love and silly bully antics in return. No other pets, kids 14 and older. If you live within 6 hours of New Tripoli, PA and can provide Bullseye the home he needs, please either message our main inbox or Lisa Taubman Blount directly. Thank you.
