Meet Gambit

Gambit is a 3 year old male bull terrier who LOVES going on daily walks and skateboard runs (he isn’t the one on the skateboard, he runs next to his human who is on the skateboard). He weighs 50 lbs. He is happiest if someone is petting him and will sit against you and lean in to get some love. He reportedly responds more to men but will listen to his current owner who is a female. It seems like with most bull terriers, he will do best with a human who he knows is in charge and doesn’t allow him to push boundaries. He is crate trained and potty trained. As far as other dogs go, he will do best with a submissive companion, he doesn’t do well with dominant dogs. He also hasn’t quite learned how to take cues from other dogs when they have had enough so he will need a human who pays attention to body language and will put a stop to him annoying the other dog before the other dog cues go from a warning to more than that. He does have a tendency to try to mount other dogs so he will need a human who will put a stop to that immediately so as to not frustrate the other dog. Gambit can be mouthy and headbutt at the face when excited when meeting new people (not in an aggressive way, just in a typical bull terrier excited way). He has a big Jolly Ball that he likes to play with and bring to you to include you in his play. There was a lot going on in the house during his evaluation and he was generally calm with it all. He is NOT okay with cats and if there is a squirrel or rabbit or other similar smaller animal in the fenced in yard, he will try to chase it but on walks, you can easily redirect him from them. He has been around children of various ages, however, due to him enjoying zoomies and hucklebutts and thus the risk of accidentally ramming into someone as well as his mouthiness and headbutting, kids 12 and older.
