Update: Home Secured – Koopa Needs a Home
UPDATE: We have a wonderful foster-to-adopt home lined up pending homecheck. Further updates to follow.
Meet Koopa
Koopa is an 11 month old male bull terrier. The family who surrendered him had no bull terrier experience and didn’t understand how to keep him physically and mentally stimulated. He also lived with a senior pit bull who didn’t appreciate his young energy. The big issue though was that he was often left in the backyard unattended and found ways to disassemble part of the fence and would then go explore the neighborhood. His family was concerned that he would get hit by a car. Koopa is a little overweight, currently weighing 53 lbs. He is very dog friendly and would do well with a dog who has similar energy and likes to play a lot. Dogs his size or bigger. He will not do well in a home with a calmer or older dog as he will annoy that dog. During evaluation, it was noted that he would prefer being with a human over playing with a toy. He would explore the yard but always had his eye on the humans and would come running back over as soon as his name was called. He definitely craves human interaction. He is crate trained and reported to be 95% potty trained. He was destructive in the home he was surrendered from but it is quite possible that he was bored and not getting enough attention, however, we can’t say that with 100% assurance. Koopa appears to be a very loving boy who just needs to be with a family who understands the breed. No cats or smaller animals. Kids 12 and older.
