Yesterday we filled you in some about the 2 littermates, Jerzy and Cali, who needed a new home. The original owner had purchased both females for breeding purposes. They found out they had to leave for Puerto Rico and were just going to euthanize the girls for no reason other than it was a simple solution to them. There was also some abuse. The neighbors took in both girls but the landlord found out and threatened them with eviction if they kept them. Jerzy went to her foster home on Friday. Today, Cali, the other 1 1/2 year old female went to her foster-to-adopt home. Unlike her sister Jerzy, Cali was not bred and acts more like the typical, young rambunctious bull terrier. We felt strongly that Cali needed to go to a home where the humans had bull terrier experience as she needs to learn some manners and have structure and routine in her life to help her be the best Cali she can be. Immediately, Marion Georgiev came to mind. Marion has literally had bull terriers all of her life. They were there when Marion was born and with the exception of about 2 months, she has always had a bull terrier. Marion currently has Blue Ridge alumnus Good Time Charlie – Adopted, now known as Mutu, who she adopted about 2 years ago along with a senior female pit bull. Once Cali decompresses, she will be slowly integrated. We could not have asked for a better home for Cali and are looking forward to seeing her progress.

Special thanks to the caring family who made sure that Cali and Jerzy were safe and Aspen and Sarah Burton for going to meet and evaluate both girls.
