Some of you may recall reading about a bull terrier named Bailey who went to her new home a few weeks back. Bailey and another bull terrier named Bella were in need of new homes as their owner’s life had changed dramatically. She had to move from her home with a fenced in yard to an apartment and work 14 hour days, 6 days of the week. She felt terrible that both bullies were not getting any attention that they were use to and were left alone for so many hours each day. It was quite obvious that she loved both bullies and selflessly wanted better for them. After several discussions and an evaluation, we felt that they were not bonded and could be separated. When talking with Bella’s owner, we made a list of things that were important for her new home. That list included a home with a fenced in yard, a doggie companion who had a similar temperament and energy level to Bella’s and a child for Bella to be with. While we did make a post trying to find Bella a home, one particular family who we worked with previously kept coming to mind. In April 2021, we had been contacted about a bull terrier named Princess who was at a shelter and needed a home. At the time, we reached out to a lovely couple named Johanna and Brian. They had patiently been waiting for the right fit for their family. Princess seemed to be the one. They drove to the shelter and brought her home. Princess who was 4 at the time, came into rescue with an orthopedic issue in her front leg/paw. We ended up reaching the point of having a custom made brace for her. All the while her new family was great about having to take her to many vet appointments to get her leg to be the best it could be. However, along with that issue, it sadly turned out that she had kidney disease. In spite of everyone’s best efforts, Princess passed and crossed the rainbow bridge in January of 2022. It was devastating. When Bella came along, we were unsure if they were ready to bring another bully into their home but reached out because of the overwhelming feelings we had that they were the home she was suppose to go to. Johanna and Brian agreed. Today, Bella went on her way to join them. Along with her new pawrents, Bella will have a 2 legged sibling, a miniature bull terrier sibling and a lovely fenced in yard. Below is a picture of her new dad Brian and Lydia, who helped with transport.

Special thanks to Elizabeth Deehan for evaluating Bella, Chris and Lydia Ronzitti for driving the middle leg and Brian and Johanna for opening up their hearts and home again to another bully
