UPDATE: We have a wonderful home lined up for Sam. He will be going there somtime next week. Further updates to follow.

Sam is ready for his furever home but needs it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Sam has spent the majority of the last month at board and train where he learned how to be a good citizen. He came from a situation where he was used for backyard breeding and was housed in a facility with no heat or running water. He was seized along with the other dogs for neglect. During his 5 years there, he never learned things he needed to including how to use his mouth properly. Since coming into rescue, he has learned to not be as mouthy but will occasionally forget and revert back. If he is told to knock it off, he does immediately. A week and a half ago, he went to a foster home so we could have time to work on finding him the right home. However, Sam’s foster mom blew her knee out last night, can’t put any weight on her leg and is on crutches. She is unable to care for him or her other bullies right now so we are looking to move Sam very quickly. Sam knows several commands and has taken the heart of everyone who has met him. He currently weighs about 60 lbs. and is about 5 1/2 yrs old. He is good with other dogs but can be rough. He will do best being in a home with an active, energetic dog who is bigger than him and can tolerate rough bull terrier style play. He will need to have a human who will continue to work on his obedience training so he doesn’t start to push boundaries. He does best with structure and routine. He has been continuously described as a sweet, loving boy. Kids 14 and older. No cats or smaller animals.
