Bane spent the first several months of his life with the same family. There wasn’t a question if he was loved in that home as his human mom clearly cared for him and about him enough to try to save him by giving him up. Issues had arisen in the home where the woman had to get a protective order and move quickly out of the home for her own safety. Bane was signed over to rescue and quickly moved out of the area as there was concern that the other adult in that home might try to sell him to some random person just to get money. He went to foster for a short time so that we could make sure all the information we were told about him was accurate. Sure enough, it was. Bane is a very loving, dog friendly boy who just wants to play and be loved. Once we posted that we were looking for a furever home for Bane, a gentleman named Timothy reached out. He had recently lost his bull terrier Frank and was struggling with his loss. It turns out that Timothy and his wife Rebecca live on a 28 acre farm with a huge fenced in area for dogs to play. They are highly involved in rescue and have been for decades at varying degrees. Their love for all animals is very evident when talking with them. Yesterday, Bane met his foster-to adopt dad Tim and headed home to the farm to meet his new family. He will be able to burn off lots of his young energy while playing with his new four legged and two legged siblings. We could not have dreamed of a more appropriate and perfect home and family for Bane.
Special thanks to Kathy Riley for initially taking charge of the situation, getting Bane into boarding until we could come up with a plan and covering the costs of that and his initial vetting and Eva Van Stratum for fostering Bane and driving him part way to meet his new dad.
