COURTESY POST

We posted about Chico when he was at a shelter in South Dakota last year and then a few months ago when the family that adopted him from the shelter contacted us once they realized that Chico and their current bull terrier were not compatible. The
have continued to crate and rotate the dogs but the situation is not ideal for either dog so they need to find a new home for Chico. Both South Dakota and Minnesota are far outside of our
area of coverage but there aren’t any bull terrier rescues who cover there and we don’t want his current family to feel alone in their attempt to find Chico a new home. Due to those circumstances, we will share his information and help his current family vet potential homes.

Chico is an 8 year old, 56 pound male bull terrier. Chico needs to be the ONLY animal in the home, he is reactive around other dogs and has a very high prey drive. He will need a bully
savvy owner who understands the responsibilities of owning a reactive dog. Chico is working on muzzle training. He was with same humans his entire life before he was surrendered to the shelter and then adopted by the family from Minnesota in November. He is a big snuggle bug and has interacted extremely well with humans (kids 15-18 and adults) with no issues at all. He is housebroken and lets you know when he needs to go out. He is very smart and a quick learner who loves the challenge of doing
it. He knows a number of commands but still needs to learn a few more. He is curious with a very good sense of smell and is very treat and food motivated. It has taken Chico quite a while
to become comfortable in a home after being in a shelter but as he has his personality has blossomed. He has short bursts of bully energy and zoomies and at this point only likes short
walks. He does not like to be alone, his current humans work from home and that’s what he prefers. He is crate trained but he doesn’t really like it. Ideally, he would like a fenced in yard if
not he would need to be on leash and supervised when outside. He is non-destructive and just needs a loving home where he is the center of attention.

Although Blue Ridge Bull Terrier Club Rescue is trying to help spread the word on Chico in the hopes of finding him a new home, this would be a rehoming situation directly through his
current owners not through Blue Ridge. Chico is in Faribault, MN. If you think you can provide Chico the home he needs, please message Nicole Poe Broden directly
