Yesterday, Ripp, the fifth of the Fall River Five was sprung from the shelter. All five littermates had been taken by Animal Control for neglect. Ripp’s four siblings have been settling into their new homes nicely. Although our intake and placement coordinator Lisa Taubman Blount does a lot of the behind the scenes work, it isn’t often that a bully is close enough to where she lives that she gets to pull any of them. This case was different. Lisa and her husband Jason had the opportunity to pull Ripp from the shelter and drive to meet up with his foster-to-adopt mom, Karen. When the post was made looking for homes for the Fall River Five, Karen reached out right away and offered to take one of them. After talking with her quite a bit, it seemed like she had a fabulous home and huge heart. Once Ripp is decompressed, he will start to integrate with his new bully sister Eleanor and older tripod pit mix sister Misty. Since getting home yesterday afternoon, Ripp has already enjoyed having a dip in a doggie pool on the deck and a full exploration of his new home. We are thrilled that all five littermates are out of the shelter and into homes. The Fall River Five got to push the reset button on their lives and we are grateful that we get to be part of that.

Special thanks to Arianna Silva and the staff at Forever Paws Animal Shelter for putting the best interest of the littermates first, Rhonda and Joseph M Arruda for evaluating the bullies, and Jason for taking the afternoon to help go get Ripp and bring him to meet up with Karen.
