A week and a half ago, we learned about Tori, now to be known as Duchess. Duchess was picked up as a stray and once her stray hold was up she went to a shelter. She has been nothing shy of an angel since being found. During her stray hold, she stayed with her finder and did great with the dogs in the home. Since being at the shelter, she has been so outgoing and sweet, they started to use her as their greeter/test dog. Shortly before learning about Duchess, a former adopter, Tobi Hudnall had reached out looking for another bull terrier as she recently lost her older male Bo and her female Macie was really lonely. The loneliness of Macie only exacerbated Tobi and her families feelings of loss and sadness since losing Bo. Although we don’t typically place bullies of the same sex in a home, we will make exceptions if both bullies are extremely dog friendly and we feel it will work. That is the case here. Today Duchess went to her foster-to-adopt home. Here she is with her new dad. We can only hope that her future is as bright as she is.

Special thanks to Stacy Epperson and the staff at Bedford County Animal Shelter for taking such good care of Duchess while with them, Mike and Jessica Klaiber for meeting and evaluating Duchess and Chris Klaiber for pulling Duchess from the shelter and driving 2 hours to meet up with Tobi.
