We want to thank everyone for their generous donations towards Piper’s care ðŸ’ž
Piper is home from surgery and did GREAT!! She had HUGE bladder stones as EXPECTED from her x-rays (biggest her vet said she had ever taken out), and both her cystotomy and eye enunciation (removal) surgeries went well.

She will be rechecked in 2 weeks and a sample of one of the stones sent off for analysis so we can confirm their type. By their physical appearance, they appear to be struvite stones which *usually* occur from chronic UTIs and a pH of urine that allows crystals to stick together and turn to stone. So, she is on a cranberry supplement (to prevent bacteria from sticking to her bladder walls) and will be on a whole food super clean diet for the rest of her days to ensure she NEVER has to deal with anything like these stones again!

MASSIVE thank you to Stephanie Strunk Hickey of Admiral Veterinary Hospital for getting Piper in so quickly and for making sure she got the procedures she so desperately needed – huge shout out to her foster to adopt mom Fallon Houser who stepped right up and got her on the right regimen and got her in quickly with her vet. Her next one (which includes removing about 7 teeth due to a lack of prior dental care,.. but will wait a month or two while she recovers from THIS massive round of surgeries first).
