UPDATE (08/03/23): We lost our faith in humanity yesterday morning when we first learned about this terrified boy but we quickly regained it and remembered that there are so many kind, caring human beings once we made this post. Thank you to each and every one of you for caring so very much about this precious boy. To all of the people who commented and messaged offering to help, we are trying to respond back to everyone in a timely manner but received so many messages that we may not be able to get back to each of you. We have some really great options for this guy and will be finalizing plans for where he will go today and then work on the logistics for getting him there once the stray hold is up and we can legally take ownership of him. Further updates to follow. Thank you all.
Foster Home Needed Urgently
Covington, GA
We just learned about this terrified boy and are in need of a foster home starting Friday, August 4th, if his owner does not claim him before his stray hold is up. He was picked up a few days ago and is very scared and is breaking our hearts. He is not chipped. All we know about him is that his skin is a mess, he is fairly thin, currently weighing 40 lbs. and not surprisingly, is Heartworm positive. We don’t know how he is with other animals, although when he has been walked by the kennels of other dogs, he hasn’t reacted. We just need someone to take him in, help him feel safe and love him. We will cover all of his vetting needs. If you have other dogs but want to help, we would just ask that you keep them separate since we don’t know how he is with them. After he has decompressed and has built some trust, we would have slow introductions made to see how he does. If you have cats but can’t keep them completely separate, we will have concerns about their wellbeing since we don’t know if he has a prey drive or not. Since we don’t know any history on him, kids 12 and older. If you live within 4-6 hours, preferably closer to Covington, GA and can open your home to this special boy, please either message our main inbox or Lisa Taubman Blount directly. Thank you.
