UPDATE (7/24/2023): We have a wonderful foster home lined up pending homecheck this evening. Further updates to follow.
Immediate Foster Home needed for bonded pair
These adorable girls were picked up as strays one day apart from each other in the same area of town. The younger one on July 17th and the older on July 18th. Their stray hold has come and gone and no one came to claim them. The staff at the shelter report that they are both really sweet, keep their kennels clean and walk good on a leash. The older girl weighs 30
lbs and the younger is 33 lbs. The shelter coordinator believes they are from the same home and bonded. The older female has something going on with her eye that needs medical attention right away. We will get them both into a vet once they are in a foster home, all of those costs will be covered by the rescue. They are at a high risk shelter that is full so we need to get them out ASAP. We are looking for someone willing to open up their home to both girls. They have not shown any reactivity to other dogs since being picked up and brought to the shelter. That being said, they don’t dog test there so if you have other dogs in your home, we’d ask that you be willing to keep the girls separate from your dogs for the first few weeks so they can decompress, adjust to their surroundings and allow them and the resident dog(s) to get use to the sounds and smells of each other then try slow integration to see how they do. Since we have no history on them, kids 12 and older. We have no idea about small animals like cats. If you live within 6 hours of Goldsboro, NC and can offer these girls a foster spot immediately, please either message our main inbox or Lisa Taubman Blount directly.
